On Easter Sunday we put on the hiking shoes for a more serious walk.
We left on the ferry to Mui Wo at 10.30 and started walking from the China Bear bar in Silvermine Bay at about 11.00. We walked south-west towards Sunset Peak and decided to take the track around the peak instead of over the top (Since it’s a boiling 30 degrees out!).
It was about a 12 km walk before we reached Tung Chung Road again, where we hitched a van to “De Stoep” restaurant for drinks and food. All in all a four hour hike.

See you later

Since it’s the Easter holiday, I’m taking the time to do some hiking. Today I walked up DB peak on Lantau Island. The walk from my flat to the top at about 490 mtr I did in 1 hour and 4 minutes, while taking an 8 minute phone call along the way.
The island you see in the picture (through the grass) is Chek Lap Kok airport.

I flew back from Amsterdam to Hong Kong last week. This picture was taken during the flight, CX 270.
Because of the current SARS threat in Hong Kong and China, the flight had only 26 passengers on board, what a waste for Cathay!
Anyway, we flew over Friesland and Groningen and I had a nice view over the Dutch Islands. I think the attached Island is Ameland, but I could be wrong - let me know!

Added on 1 May: It turns out I was wrong - the island is Schiermonnikoog!

Good day. This is the very first entry into my web log.
It was a little bit of a struggle with the software I use, but I think now I got it working, and am ready to update it regularly.
