Dear all,
We had a fantastic wedding! This was it… the day Marc & I would exchange vows. “In sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, till death do us part.” Cliche. You’ve all probably heard this a thousand times, weddings or movies. Then it becomes just words that both of you utter in front of the priest. Yet it is oh, so much deeper when you both pledge it to each other. Magical. Eternal. Boundless. A sacrament.
After all the excitement, laughter, drama… eating… drinking… and more drinks, we were both very eager to go on this honeymoon/educational/cultural trip all rolled into one. Pretty heavy, hey?
Bangkok was our first stop. Actually more of a transit point for all our trips.
After spending “One Night In Bangkok” we flew to Siem Reap in Cambodia.
Yep, Marc & I have been really all excited to see the Angkor temples and so much more! We both had a crash course in Cambodian history in seven days. So we think we’re all set to go and explore and gaze at the wonders of this place. Instead, we were both transported back in time… a period where mighty kings ruled the vast land. Where elephants roamed the earth carrying the queen and her consorts… where the gallantry of the warriors are displayed in a huge march in front of Angkor Thom (11th B.C.)… where the Angkor Wat (11th B.C. built by Jayavarman II) stands proud and majestic against the back drop of the shimmering sun set.
AWESOME! Really made us marvel at what it was like living at that period. We wish we can bring it to the readers in words we can describe. There are none to match the spectacle that befalls our very eyes.
Temples and 38 C day temperature doesn’t really mix all too well. So we decided to proceed to Koh Samui, Thailand. The emerald sea, cloudless skies, breezy shores, warm, friendly people, and gastronomic food… ahhhh!!! Thailand here we come!
