I went on a junktrip today - and it’s been a really hot & beautiful day.
We sailed from discovery bay to the Soko Islands - in the southwestern tip of hong kong’s territory. It’s one of the nicest spots in Hong Kong, and virtually untouched.

It’s been a while, so here are some!
He’s very happy here coz we’re on our way to the swimming pool.

Running through a grass field is cool - it would be more fun with a ball though…
Just chilling with dad on the couch and playing with the camera.

An afternoon at the beach with mum - matthijs and the ocean are like magnets.

When you’re a year and a half, all you need is an empty box to keep you busy for an afternoon.

Eating can be very tiring.

And a picture with my friends in Cebu; Barbara and Alicia

Yes, we’ll be having wifi access on the subway in Hong Kong soon. See below article for the details.

I don’t sit in the MTR that often, but it’s another nice sign of how Internet access is starting to become ubiquitous.
Besides above, noteworthy is that Singapore is working on a city wide network of wifi access points. On my last trip I was able to access this public wifi network for free, from my hotel.

This could well be my next phone.
I’ve been browsing around for an upgrade from my 18 months old Dopod 818 Pro for a while now, and this Samsung looks like a candidate.
Currently I could buy the Samsung i600, which is already in the shops, but it looks like this next version of that phone could be worth the wait. The issue with buying the Samsung i600 is that it does not have Windows Mobile 6 yet. And it’s always a little hard to buy a phone with an outdated OS… (huh sounds like I’m talking about PCs doesn’t it?).
The i620 does have WM 6 and and the other specs are more or less the same as the i600; 3G, HSDPA, wi-fi etc.
But the formfactor does look good with the sliding keyboard. It’s a little thicker than i600 and that’s fine although it depends on what the weight of the new i620 will be.
I haven’t spotted a review yet, but will post a link here when I see one.

A bit of a cliche picture here from New York!
This trip was succesful - both business and pleasure wise. Meetings and presentations went well, while I spend a day wandering around this great city.
Now into an airplane for a nice 16 and a half hour flight home…

I woke up early this morning (jet lagged) and started walking uptown at 7.30am.
I just reached Rockefeller Center and did all the key sights downtown and here, including Empire State Building 86th floor.
Time for lunch now, and then maybe a nap in Central Park.

I’m now in New York and having a drink all by mysef on Pier 17.
I have a brilliant view view over the East river and Brooklyn bridge from here.
So far I wandered around downtown Manhattan and Wall St today. Tomorrow I will venture uptown.

I’m boarded & ready to go on CX830. This is the longest direct flight I ever took & problably one of the longest flights in the world.
Close to 15 and a half hours with an airbus 340-600, extend range.
It makes me wonder what is actually the longest scheduled flight globally?
